This pair of hand-carved figures are beautiful examples of mid-to-late 20th-century Caribbean folk art. The elongated facial features and deep geometric patterns heavily mirror Afro-Caribbean ancestral roots, celebrating the region's blended African and Indigenous heritages. The female figure is carrying a basket atop her head and the male is playing a drum. Carved from an unknown, yet lightweight wood. Each one is about 13" tall.
